A member of UK A/V collective Modulate, Harris' music which is often created by improvisations performed on custom written software can best be described as emotively glacial ambient. His debut album for n5MD is currently being mastered by Bobby Bird (Higher Intelligence Agency). More info on its release to come...

It's been quite a while since we did an exclusive release via the n5MD BandCamp page. Today is the official release date of a very special release from Near The Parenthesis. An EP titled "The Near Pairing Thesis", is a special six song EP which finds Near The Parenthesis reinterpreting not only his namesake for the title of the EP but some key moments of his catalog into pastoral vignettes for solo piano. It can be grabbed now free-of-charge at the n5MD BandCamp page.

We're proud to announce yet another wonderful addition to the n5MD roster. This time in the form of the rather anomalously named eleventhfloorrecords. A duo currently based in Malmo Sweden, “eleventhfloorrecords” excels in a very personal form of electro-stylized shoegaze that fits in rather well with n5MD's emotional music ideology. They are currently hard at work on recording their debut album with Jatun's Scott Worley at the mixing desk. You can follow their recording process, progress, and antics via their website.

n5MD welcomes Santiago Lizón's Crisopa project to our roster of artists. He's been on our radar for some time now due to his several excellent eps on such netlabels as escala, persona-isla and plataforma-ltw  Lizón's currently hard at work on various mixed-media projects in his native Spain. One of which is his debut album for n5MD...

We were very saddened to hear that Aaron Johnston took his own life on Monday Oct 18. Aaron spent the late 90 and early 2000s as a journalist writing for such magazines as Alternative Press and Industrial Nation. Aaron later went to Columbia University where he graduated summa cum laude majoring in english & comparative literature. In addition to pursuing his passion for photography in New York City, he often donated his time to the local animal shelter. Most recently Aaron worked as a very valuable part of the n5MD staff as a writer, editor, and as our east coast photographer. Our deepest condolences go out to Aaron's family and friends. He was a hugely creative and humbly generous presence that will be truly missed.
