Hologram

Hologram

Japan
Hologram was formed by guitarist Kensuke Takahashi, drummer and vocalist Go Hidaka, and bassist and vocalist Saori Yokoyama in August 2003. In May 2004, Kosuke Nishimura joined on synthesizer as a support member, but he departed in June 2006. In September 2006, guitarist Tsubasa Ehara joined as a support member, and was permanently added to the band in April 2007. Hologram has been highly involved in live shows in Tokyo and other cities around their native Japan. March 2006 saw the release of their debut Mini-album on Zankyo Records (JP) as well as a very personal performance at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin TX. Their post-rock and electronic sound captures thoughts in one’s mind of faded colours, familiar smells and warm temperatures—Hologram embody those senses in their own sound as a “band”. Each member has their own influences, however, they prefer to share their inspirations with one another to create their own unique sound rather than wear them as stylistic benchmarks. Subtly heavy drums, sliding bass, transparent guitar, complicated textural electronics, and vocals that delivers their words and echoes very carefully to take listeners to a “pleasant place” is what the Hologram sound embodies and a perfect experience to get lost within.
