Jase Rex, who records under the rather self deprecating moniker 'another electronic musician' (or AEM as some have learned to call him) has been carving away his own niche on the web for the last few years by providing his enigmatic style to various compilations and net-label releases. Don't let AEM's moniker fool you though...he is not "just" "another electronic musician". "Use", his debut album for the n5MD imprint, is an album of fragile, glitched-up experimental electronica bringing to mind the aural edges of Lusine, Alvo Noto, and Pole. "Use" not only showcases AEM's excellent programming, production and songwriting skills but is also a perfect mix of stark thoughtful melodies, "minimal" style production techniques, leg quivering low-end, and firmly planted percussion which all flows with a serious groove. "Use" is a stunning debut from an excellent artist.
